IMPROVE YOUR ERECTION

Reduce Your Alcohol Intake

For most adults, moderate drinking of beer, wine, or spirits (one to two drinks per day), is not associated with any health or ED risks. But when alcohol is consumed in excess, it acts as a toxic drug with pronounced short- and long-term consequences. Research now links excessive alcohol intake with increased ED. This occurs because alcohol interferes with messages between the brain’s pituitary gland and the genitals. Even worse, heavy drinking—more than three drinks per day—is often combined with some variation of the following: steady smoking, overeating, lack of exercise, and drug abuse. This deadly mix nearly always adds to the potential development of ED.

Exercise Regularly

The simple equation is this: regular exercise equals better sex. There’s a definite connection between being physically active and sustaining an energetic sex life. The converse is true as well: if you don’t exercise, you’ll be putting a brake on sexual performance.

At the most basic level, it’s well known that regular exercise improves overall physical fitness, and that sexual functioning is an important part of that condition. It has been proven that steady exercise:

• improves cardiovascular function, which causes vasocongestion, or raising blood supply to the penis during intercourse, thereby helping to achieve and maintain an erection

• positively affects brain wave activity, which makes you feel energized

• builds stamina, preventing or delaying fatigue during sex

• augments muscle strength, helping to heighten sexual response, a definite asset since orgasm requires considerable muscle activity

• boosts testosterone levels, leading to heightened libido

• decreases percentage of body fat, which can positively alter personal attitudes about sex

Lose the Drugs

Cocaine, marijuana, LSD, amphetamines, and barbiturates all have a negative impact on sexual performance, including the capacity to get and keep an erection.

The most amazing fact that I can impart to you about the quest for a successful treatment of ED is this. In the last decade alone the advances in treating this condition have proven to be more significant than all of those made in the last 2,500 years. But even though there is a safe and effective oral treatment for ED, that does not mean that men, and their partners, can now ignore the many other components of good health and satisfying relationships.
