THE VIRILITY SOLUTION: MY GOAL IN PRESCRIBING THE DRUGS
Helping my patients regain a quality of life that involves their ability to function sexually is the objective of my treatment. Without a doubt, the pills, along with my virility-enhancement program, are now the best ways for overcoming ED. I’ve found that the most suitable candidates for the pills are those who are in reasonably good health, without any unstable or acute illness. These are the men who are ready, willing, and able to do everything possible to enhance their chances for success.
Frequently in medicine there are multiple treatments available for a single ailment. For example, each day I need to decide which of the fifteen different blood pressure medications I will prescribe for a patient or which of the many antibiotics should be used to treat pneumonia. My decision is based on clinical experience, severity, of the disease, side-effect profile of the medication, and unfortunately, at times, the cost of the medication.
With ED, the same decision-making process is required. I use Vasomax for those men who clearly have psychological and early mild erectile dysfunction. Because of its safety profile, I might attempt its use in a more severely impaired person by raising the dosage from the typical 40 mg level to a higher 80 mg, observing for blood pressure and cardiac changes. I have found the response – or lack of—to Vasomax to be a clue to the severity of the patient’s underlying nerve and blood vessel disease. For example, those men with more advanced atherosclerosis or diabetes typically will not respond to Vasomax at its highest (80 mg) dose.
I believe Viagra is a more powerful and effective medication. Urologists involved in the studies have described its effectiveness in patients with moderate to severe ED and even in men who have failed tri-mix injection therapy. Viagra has also proven effective for patients for overcoming the ED effects of various medications that they require. Viagra is a new prescription agent and a larger body of clinical data will be needed before we truly understand all of its applications. Trials will soon be underway to study the effects of the drug in patients who are at high risk for ED. These include men undergoing radical prostate surgery as well as those men with diabetes who are still functioning but are expected to develop ED in the future. This prophylactic use of Viagra may ultimately result in enhanced oxygenation, and therefore improved penile health.
I am confident that doses of up to 100 mg of Viagra can be used to satisfy most couple’s needs. However, as with most medications, we should always use the lowest effective dosage in order to reduce possible side effects. The drug is fast-acting, according to Pfizer’s Dr. Ian Osterloh. “When taken on an empty stomach, many men in the study were able to have sexual intercourse within twenty minutes.”
My experience with Vasomax has suggested that the pills can be taken at least ten times a month without any side effects. I have advised the men in my study to use it no more than once daily. Vasomax facilitates erections for at least ninety minutes after taking the pill. However, after taking a standard 40 mg dose, some of my patients have reported achieving a second erection with sexual stimulation hours filer without any additional medication.
